Empowerment and Confidence building Courses
Our funding allows us to run three courses with people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities who are unemployed and/or have mental health difficulties.
Each course will include 5 sessions:
Each of the 3 groups worked with will have an additional 3 coaching sessions to review the skills learned and develop individual, personal action plans to progress.
From the training and coaching, we will identify a group of up to 5 people who wish to volunteer to further engage their peers. They will become Peer Community Workers and we will skill them in further communication, engagement, participation and peer research methodologies.
We will undertake a piece of needs research to identify key concerns, how changes in local services and benefits are affecting people and their aspirations and motivation for gaining skills and work.
We will hold a launch event to promote the research findings and build awareness of our work.
